Three Steps Back is a fierce manifestation of the loudest and most aggressive forces you can attempt to even imagine… an album that deserves hype and recognition for providing our music scene great music that has quickly become scarce.

Big Wheel Online Magazine

Three Steps Back is a strong disc the spirit and sound of classic New York hardcore. Killing Time not only carry the torch for that style but surprisingly demonstrate that the music’s passion and ire aren’t tied to any place or time. I wish there were more bands still honoring the scene.

Powerline A.D.

The decade of dormancy hasn't stolen anything from Killing Time. Their dynamic riffs, compelling rhythms and urbane lyricism combine to produce a stellar effort in Three Steps Back.

I'll certainly take 25 or 30 minutes of this fired-up old-school fury over a whole subway tunnel full of lapsed straightedge goons and ironic mama's boys with scene beards who think hardcore started with Earth Crisis or Hatebreed.

Overall, this music kicks ass. That could be the review: plain and simple; direct and blunt; no frills - like a Killing Time album.

Killing Time instantly bring back the quick, spitfire gruff ball of fury that made Brightside such an important NYHC record. With 12 songs in a very fast moving 28 minutes, Three Steps Back shifts into drive and doesn’t let up…an unexpected gift for longtime fans that naturally brings the band into the present while illuminating the iconic elements of their past.

If more bands took this long to hone their craft, there might not be so much shitty music clogging up the world.

Hellbound

It's a hard thing sometimes to connect the idea of growing up with a band that is playing music as youthful and exuberant as hardcore punk, but by not tempering their sound, Killing Time proves that you don't have to go gently into that good night.
